MakerTwist™ is MakerFlo’s removable handle system designed for makers creating custom drinkware, laser engraved tumblers, and personalized tumblers with handles.

Unlike traditional handled tumblers with permanently attached handles, MakerTwist™ separates the engraving process from handle installation. Makers can customize the tumbler body first, then attach the handle after production.

Handled tumblers are popular with customers, but permanently attached handles can create additional considerations during the engraving process. MakerTwist™ creates a simpler workflow for laser engraving tumblers with handles by allowing makers to decorate the tumbler body before installing the handle.

This allows makers to:

Access the full seamless tumbler surface during engraving
Create full-wrap designs without working around a handle
Align artwork based on the final handle position
Reduce production steps by separating decoration from assembly

Step 1

Secure the Lid

Ensure the lid is fully tightened until it naturally stops. Do not overtighten. Do this without the handle so you can mark and engrave. When installed, the handle will sit at 90° from the lid tab and sip spout.

Step 2

Select Your Center Point

Use the lid tab or sip spout as the center-alignment reference for your artwork. These reference points are factory-aligned for consistent positioning.

Step 3

Position Your Artwork

Center-align your artwork to the selected reference point—the lid tab or sip spout. Mark the position with a pencil if you need to remove the lid before engraving or personalizing.

Step 4

Engrave & Clean

Complete your engraving, then clean the tumbler using Dawn Powerwash® or LA's Totally Awesome® with a microfiber cloth. Your design is now aligned with the lid.

Step 5

Add the MakerTwist Handle

After cleaning, screw on the lid with the handle until they naturally stop. MakerTwist handles install centered between the lid tab and sip spout, keeping your artwork aligned with the handle every time.

Can this tumbler be laser engraved?

Yes. MakerTwist™ compatible tumblers feature a satin powder-coated surface designed for laser engraving. Laser engraving removes the coating to reveal stainless steel contrast, making the surface ideal for names, logos, artwork, patterns, and full-wrap tumbler designs.

Do I have to engrave around the handle?

No. MakerTwist™ is designed so makers do not have to work around a permanently attached handle during engraving. The tumbler body can be customized first, then the handle can be installed after the design is complete.

Does the handle come attached?

No. The MakerTwist™ handle is installed after engraving or decoration. This allows makers to customize the tumbler body first, then attach the handle before packaging.
